  Opening tomorrow!! JFW Japan Creation 2010 S/S Japan Quality in High Gear

  JFW Japan Creation 2010 Spring/Summer will be held for three days from April 8th to 10th, at Tokyo Big Sight, Ariake, Tokyo. This textile exhibition is presenting Japan Quality to the world. While participants in similar exhibitions in Europe have been decreasing owing to the worsening global economy, Tokyo is different, and there are more companies participating this year (140 cases, 197 companies and 215 booths), with more new plans and collections on display.
New attractions include the Ecology Textile & Designer Collaboration (details mentioned later), Creator’s Village & Cafe (ditto), Dyeing Creation Village (ditto), and noteworthy companies are Swarovsky Japan Ltd. and Taishobo Industries, Ltd., which are presenting new products in “booth-in-booth” style.
The Forum (details mentioned later) is a seminar for new employees, and students can enter the business textile zone on the final day (April 10th).

Designers and ecology textile manufacturers that participated in JFW Tokyo Collection Week (2009 A/W) are collaborating in the creation of garments, which will be on exhibit. Ecology is appealed from the viewpoint of fashion.
Green Label* is the keyword, and ecology-oriented fashion products will be on display.
* Organic natural fibers, biomass fibers, unused fibers, recycled fibers, etc.

  Creator's Village

Under the coordination of Senken Shimbun Co., Ltd., a number of the exhibitors of JFW-IFF Creator’s Village (CV) are gathered to present their works and creation. CV has been newly set up to promote collaboration among visitors and exhibitors from different sectors of business.
This corner is also a space for presenting creations to visiting apparel houses, retailers and OEM companies, and a place for the participants of JFW-JC and CV to meet together. A meeting for business interchange between JFW-JC and CV participants will be held during the exhibition.
The corner will also have a coffee shop for light snacks.

  Dyeing Creation Village

In order to further heighten Japan’s textile technology, the Dyeing Creation Village promotes collaboration so that textile firms from various production districts, trades and businesses can work together for the development of new products. Under the theme “To Expand the Possibility of Processing Expressions”, the Dyeing Creation Village presents dyeing and finishing techniques that are the forte of Japan thanks to the teamwork between textile firms and processing houses. Together with the cooperation among textile production districts, fashion students can learn more about state-of-the-art processing technology.
