* Denim × Designer Collaboration <JEANISM〜Evening Tea Salon>
Support: EDWIN Co., Ltd., Kaihara Corporation
This is a project involving the presentation of creative garments developed based on collaboration among member companies under the 'Japan Jeans Association' and designers having participated in JFW (Japan Fashion Week), further promoting the link of <Creativity - Craftsmanship - Commerce>. This time, we will display 10 stylised coordinations / creations inspired by one of the 4 seasonal themes of JFW Textile View 2012A/W trend direction; 'Convivial Soiree' - suggesting the occasion of an <evening tea salon> and selecting garments wearable on social party occasions with high sensitivity and made of denim. Equally crucial is the style to showcase wide-ranging products covering fabrics, sewing, supporting materials and washing/finishing processes, exhibited by companies in the textile production range to the circulation (retailing) levels - members of the Japan Jeans Association, seeking out new possibilities and the charm of denims.
<Participating designers >
・ Motonari Ono (motonari ono)
・ Cabaret Aki (GUT’S DYNAMITE CABARETS)
・ Hideaki Sakaguchi (The Dress & Co. HIDEAKI SAKAGUCHI)
・ Tatsuya Shida (SHIDA TATSUYA)
・ Tamae Hirokawa (SOMARTA)

* JAPAN Tex-Promotion <5th FORM PRESENTATION>
(* organised by Fashion Business and Education Council)
This is a project featuring academic-industrial collaboration, which is focused on developing talent with profound knowledge and creativity. This year's theme, 'Evolution of Wool - Hairy and Airy -', focuses on Japanese wool, which is highly reputed and competitive in terms of high techniques in global markets, making this project a unique combination of students' spontaneous imagination / creativity and technicity existing in the Bishu region, the wool centre of Japan, as an approach to developing new textiles.
This time, applicants were recruited from participants in the <Wool University> lectures (held in Tokyo/Osaka) as the criteria, further organizing 'visiting tours to textile regions' as well as 'on-site experience tours' for 8 groups / schools with exam board approval among all 53 applicants / groups from 19 fashion/textile specialised schools and art related colleges / universities nationwide. We will display the works (completed garments = FORMS) in collaboration with regional textile companies . |
* PIGGY'S SPECIAL Pigskin Fashion Show
(* organised by the Tokyo District Conference of the Tanning Industry)
The 'PIGGY'S SPECIAL' show, a head-turner, involves the selection of young designers, representing Tokyo each time. This time we plan to present 2 designers, with fashion shows by specialised Tokyo schools to be held on the first day.
Oct. 12 (Wed.) 14:00 / 15: 30 - Works by students
Oct. 13 (Thu.) 14:00 / 15: 30 - Works by professional designers |
