  JAPAN Trends

INDEX[3]JFW JAPAN CREATION 2019 Premium Textile Japan 2019 Autumn/Winter

The textile trends presented by JFW Textile Division each season are born in Japan and not influenced by any other trends from Europe/America, and based on sensitivity nurtured in four seasonal changes and respect for the Japanese language.

Overview : < Courageous and decisive aspiration >

Amid global environmental changes and alongside rampant uncertainty in our actual society, where do we come from and where are we headed… we need to seek a way to ameliorate on a global scale. Equally crucial is the need to seek out our path for the future while profoundly weighing down on history, strive to reshape for the better with positivity and embrace our quest for an unknown future. People are as endlessly diverse as their destinies, from whence the wish to ceaselessly seek out an elaborate twist on today’s life for tomorrow, enrich creativity for global diversity and act in the hope of continually sustaining a fresh and inspiring mindset.

Overall colour trends :

unique and energetic palette; awash with vitality and tenderness and incorporating an airily liberated esprit … for full expression of aesthetic sensitivity.

INDEX[5]11th FORM PRESENTATION

Fashion Theme:

< Developing new ideas based on ideas learned from the past >

The academic-industrial collaborative programme < FORM PRESENTATION >, which started in 2007, aims to foster human resources for the next generation. This time, with cooperative support from the Banshu textile-producing region, we focused on the < Banshu > region, which is known for its yarn-dyed textiles, setting < Archive Mix > as the material theme and fully leveraging wide-ranging fabrics, from precious materials produced in the past to present-day items; spawning new value while studying the historical background.

Garments created by students representing 8 groups/schools – through diverse and newly inspired ideas while rediscovering the charm of the Banshu-Ori - will be displayed and presented at the venue.

Display at the JFW-JC2018 venue (11th)
