New exhibitors at PTJ

< Anticipating business by acquiring new customers >

KOMATSUWA TEXTILE CO., LTD. Booth: A-64

KOMATSUWA TEXTILE CO., LTD. is set to make its PTJ debut, aiming to win new customers and raise awareness of their products. < Azuma-daki processing> is a method that involves dyeing fabrics in a small boiling pot. ‘This method can relax fabric free of tension when dyeing, paving the way for a softer end texture. We have developed almost 70 series types, including print over-dye, yarn-dye and over-dye.’ The <orihime-daki processing> approach can also be applied to thicker fabrics for a softer texture. ‘We are eager to develop our original fabrics by partnering weavers and dyeing factories.’

SUNWELL CO., LTD. Booth: A-35

Although SUNWELL CO., LTD. has been organising its own private shows, they decided to join the PTJ as ‘Our objective is to acquire more contacts with customers in uniform/non-clothing fields apart from menswear/ladieswear categories. On this occasion, they showcase <MONALUCE>; a double-sided raised and yarn-dyed polyester/rayon product with two-way stretch fabric. <MONALUCE> has been produced in series; normally featuring a commended plain + pattern compilation each season.

TAKUMI DREAM ASSOCIATION Booth: B-69

Although the TAKUMI DREAM ASSOCIATION previously participated at the JFW-JC fair, it opted to shift to the PTJ as a more business-oriented show to target new customers. This company, based in Mitsuke City, Niigata Prefecture, produces yarn-dyed jacquard and dobby fabrics centring on natural fibres: cotton, linen and wool. Recently they have launched a production business under their original <TAKUMI DREAM> brand, handling clothing and variety goods, which will also go on show at the fair.

NIHON KEISEN KAISHA, LTD. Booth: A-65

NIHON KEISEN KAISHA, LTD. joins the PTJ fair; aiming to acquire as many new customers

as possible. Their woven fabric series, using 100% cotton from the local ENSHU region that featured stand-out unevenness and transparency attracted considerable attention. On this occasion, a newly launched <Organdie Waffle> item will be showcased, alongside the <Organdie Miracle> and its permanent crease.

HORIE SENKOU CO., LTD. Booth: C-26

HORIE SENKOU CO., LTD. decided to return to the PTJ to enhance acquisition of new customers. Known for their specific processing/finishing, they will feature sulphide processing this time. The fabric is bio-processed for a vintage-like aspect and texture. In other processing, although usual dye is applied for an uneven finish, gradations can be obtained when dyeing. Raised finishing by brushing rather than sandpapering elicits a fine and even suede-like surface on the fabric. ‘Combining this specific processing is also possible.’

U.T.K CO., LTD. Booth: B-38

U.T.K CO., LTD. is a previous JFW-JC participant, but a new face at the PTJ. ‘We decided to join PTJ to develop new customers from apparel companies in particular.’ Their main sales products include: synthetic fabrics from the FUKUI region and jacquard textiles from the YONEZAWA region, alongside embroidered materials from GUNMA Prefecture. They will showcase large-patterned jacquard using floral motifs alongside specialized tape embroidery products; perfect for one-piece dresses and jackets.

ASCENTE S.A. Booth: J-82

ASCENT S.A. has been participating in several textile fairs held in Tokyo and is set to debut at the JFW-JC show in an effort to ‘recruit new customers.’ This company deals in products including fur scarves as well as handling an OEM business covering small articles and a range of wear extending up to both fake and real fur items; from fox, rabbit and mink to chinchilla. They excel in proposing products with youth appeal in terms of design/sense and colour usage and are also involved in ODM, with proposals straight from the planning stage onwards.

ALPHALINE CO., LTD. Booth: J-72

Although ALPHALINE CO., LTD. is categorized as a supporting material group, it still ranks as a top-class maker of thermobonding rhinestones in the domestic market. A processing capacity of 600,000 pcs. per day sees the company handle the latest items that tick multiple boxes; cost and swifter delivery than China or Korea can offer. They originally focused on ‘deco-den’ (decorated mobile phones), featuring bonded rhinestones. From there, the scope expanded to include planning, designing and inventory control of rhinestone products right up to the present range that meets customers’ demand and leverages original planning and design ability to the fullest extent. Although previously present as a behind-the-scenes supporter, they have now decided to exhibit at the JFW-JC fair as a major player for the first time; aiming to enhance company recognition and win new customers.

KOKURA CREATION INC. Booth: J-75

’Kokura-ori’ is said to have won the favour of the Shogun Ieyasu TOKUGAWA as a unique textile produced in the early 17th century by the feudal clan of the Kokura region in southern Japan (Kita Kyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture). The cotton cloth, woven in a vertical stripe pattern, was prized nationwide to make the hakama (a long pleated skirt worn over the kimono) and the obi (a broad sash for the kimono). During the Meiji era, its marble pattern became a staple throughout Japan for boys’ uniforms, but the Kokura-ori textile was no longer produced from the beginning of the Showa era. Later however, in 1984, textile dyeing artist Noriko Tsuiki successfully revived this beautiful fabric. Given the width restrictions on hand-woven textiles, KOKURA CREATION INC. presently strives to produce wide fabric in bulk by partnering Chikugo region factories under the <SHIMA-SHIMA> brand and helping revitalise the Kokura-ori in the process. Their products are used not only in small articles, but also interior-related items, towels and even men’s jackets.

KONDO COTTON SPINNING CO., LTD. Booth: J-04

KONDO COTTON SPINNING CO., LTD. aims to appeal to the downstream industry, including apparel, as it makes its first appearance at the JFW-JC show. As well as spinning at their domestic production site, Omachi mill, their apparel business division also handles OEM business. Their motive for participation includes ‘showcasing yarns developed over 5-6 years at our Omachi factory, to those in the apparel business as well as the textile regions and viewing their reactions.’ Their highlight - ‘CUMULUS’ - a 100% cotton product for casualwear - is specifically made to differentiate from the early phase of raw cotton production. A compound yarn, blending cotton/synthetic and other natural fibres, including wool, will be showcased in parallel and sensitivity evaluation obtained in collaboration with SHINSHU UNIVERSITY will be introduced as part of the visual displays.

SHIMOMURA CO., LTD. Booth: J-74

SHIMOMURA CO., LTD., former group participant, will be participating as an individual exhibitor this time, with a range that goes beyond apparel fabrics alone to encompass other interior components like chair upholstery or partitions. ‘We hope to appeal strongly to new apparel and interior-related customers.’, they commented. They possess an integrated production system from twisting, false-twisting, warping to weaving, while dyeing process is handled by their cooperative company. Their advantage is the ‘capability to thoroughly control production, starting from yarn-making, thanks to an integral production system – which makes all the difference.’
