the universal appeal of synthetic fibres that will extend into the future and the creation of new values.
The theme is “every wear of superior quality,” inspired by the world of elegant, high-quality, French luxury wear. Student works produced with fabrics by TORAY INDUSTRIES INC., exuding a contemporary and futuristic air and creating new forms of expression, will be presented at JFW-JC2016. |
The special-basic style by Japan leather
|
One of the highlights of the JFW-JC 2016 fair is a special area at the lobby gallery (B1F) showcasing an upcoming Japan leather exhibition, entitled <JFW-JC Leather Creation>.
‘Actual trends favour simple styles influenced by “normcore” or a “recurrence to classics” mood, hence the focus on leather as a key player for its presence, feature, and naturally expressive nature.’ With this concept in mind, the essence of leather materials gathered from representative leather-producing regions; Tokyo, Hyogo and Wakayama, will all be on show. Exhibits include: Tokyo leather pigskin, which is nowadays exported to European top-brand maisons, leather made in Himeji, with the world-acclaimed unique white-tanning technique, indigo-dyed leather, sportive stretch leather, water-repellent leather, and extra-thin leather, alongside uniquely shaped leather featuring original mesh material, and a specific cutting method… all representing Japan’s <leather tanning and treatment>.
Also in the spotlight is the <PIGGY’S SPECIAL> fashion show, featuring Tokyo leather Pigskin, created by <MIKIO SAKABE> and a young, emerging creator representing Tokyo; <Tokyo New Age>.
