Started in the year 2000, the textile show, <Preview in Seoul> marks its 13th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the Japan Fashion Week Organisation (JFWO) was invited by the Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) to make an initial participation in their show in a promotional booth style, after concluding an MOU to further strengthen the mutual partnership in terms of promotional textile industry activities. Since the vast majority of overseas visitors to both of our shows are from Korea, JFW-JC and PTJ, JFW have long sought a firm and efficient platform to enhance our promotional activities in Korea. With this in mind, the proposal to sign an MOU by KOFOTI came at the perfect time to obtain the right venue for the JFW promotion, with the latest and most advanced fabrics showcased in the promotional booth. They encompassed spinning, weaving/knitting and finishing techniques from the Japanese makers and were exclusively arranged for display in the fair to attract maximum visitors and interest. The visitors included apparel trading companies, both importers and exporters, textile makers and students, totaling approx. 450. Many visitors attempted to get a closer hands-on look and feel of the showcased fabrics. Multi-coloured and patterned fabrics alongside jacquards, functional fabrics and volumy fancy-looking tweeds won particular acclaim among the whole collection. We are delighted to announce that 16 Korean companies led by the KOFOTI will participate in our JFW-JC show, continuing from last year and forming a Korean Pavilion alongside the KOFOTI promotional stand this coming November. |
