The 「JFW JAPAN CREATION 2012」show will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight (West Exhibition Hall 4) from 12 to 14 October, featuring 192 entries in 229 standard booths, including textile exhibitors and 90 entries in 91 standard booths, showcasing trendy and newly developed accessories for apparel, textile products, furs, leather, information, IT, and machinery.
The 「Premium Textile Japan 2012 Autumn/Winter」show will be held concurrently in the West Hall 3, next to the JC show venue.
The overall theme of the JFW-JC show is <Truthful Wisdom>, reflecting the current circumstances of Japan, which is badly affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and reconsidering a return to origin, with the importance and recognition of authenticity.
Highlights of the show will include 'Japan Wool', with a strong focus on advanced, world-beating techniques, under the theme < Evolution of Wool - Hairy & Airy >, in an academic-industrial programme, uniting the existing traditional skills of the Bishu textile region and the spontaneous and imaginative creativity of students, targeting new textile developments. Denim x Designer collaboration / <JEANISM〜 Evening Tea Salon 〜> meanwhile is an event presenting garments made by designers having participated in the JFW show using denim fabrics provided by the group companies of the Japan Jeans Association. A fashion show entitled 'PIGGY's SPECIAL' will also be held during the fair. Large scale exhibitor groups include <Bishu Style>, a group of wool and related producers, as well as the Korean Pavilion (comprising 18 companies), who will certainly attract many visitors this time.
<JFW-JC> focuses on promotional activities, for which all visitors are welcome, whereas <PTJ> is more business- and negotiation-oriented, with visitors limited to invited buyers and participants of 60 entries/occupancy of 76 standard booths, showcasing fabrics for autumn/winter 2012. A fringe programme, < Business matching> will also be a follow-on from the previous show, setting negotiation meetings between 4 major apparel companies/certain maisons having participated in the JFW and the exhibitors during the fair. Overseas visitors are also more than welcome !

Introducing cool and mysterious looking fabrics, with sleek, tender textures and an opulent and sensual nuance. |
|
Fabrics symbolising the dynamism of nature's magnitude - awash with natural and warm feelings, alongside various profound and interesting features expressing the source of mystery. |
|
Highlighting fabrics based on personal fashion style and theory, respecting individual values and tastes. Proposals to enjoy personalised fashion and fabrics, with a free and open-minded attitude. |
|
Fabrics with a friendly and humorous ambience---inspired by a joyful mood over conversation in a convivial soiree, providing the vigour of tomorrow. |
This season, I received plenty of interesting fabrics, that are rich in prints, finishing as well as additional detailed techniques on articles such as feather, or embroidery works producing original looks on surfaces, representing interesting and elaborate finishing skills for each theme, including a variety of imitation fur (piles) for the autumn/winter season. All the fabrics are tactfully categorized and developed according to 4 themes, emphasizing colour ranges, such as cool, mysterious, multi-coloured, and vigorous directions in a subtly balanced manner.

![INDEX[1]Japan Pavillion 2011 -intertextile Shanghai -](images/title_index_03.gif) |
The exhibition, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, is a textile fair for apparel fabrics. Held in China, where economic growth continues unabated, it is the largest of its kind in terms of both the number of exhibitors and visitors alike. Figures for the previous show, with over 57,000 visitors to 2,500 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions and 10 halls of the fairground occupied, are likely to be exceeded this year. The first day of the fair is a special buyers'day, reserved exclusively for invited buyers.
One of the biggest draws to this fair is the presentation of original trends by countries from all over the world, reflecting increasing interest in Chinese market trends. International pavilions last year included Italy, (over 10 years' of consecutive participation), Germany, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, India, and Turkey, where specific fabrics based on original trends were respectively showcased.
This year, the 'Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2011', to be held in October, features a collaborating booth ; 'Japan Pavilion' of JFW (Japan Fashion Week Organization) and JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization); joining forces to present original Japanese textile trends alongside a business negotiation space included within the pavilion.
In the 'Japan Pavilion', where all the leading Japanese companies will unite in this privileged area of the venue, there is the promise of promotional business efficiency, combined with a supporting programme, such as business matching with potential buyers during the fair.
