We are a Nishijin brocade manufacturer established in 1980, specializing in Buddhist gold brocade. Buddhist gold brocade is a traditional textile used for kesa (robes) worn by priests and mizuhiki, solemn articles used to decorate temples, with patterns expressed with gold and silver thread and gold and silver foil. We have a factory with more than 20 looms in Nishijin, Kyoto, and we produce fabrics in widths from 70 to 150 cm. We also handle small-lot production of originally designed fabrics. Skilled craftsmen and young craftsmen work side by side to develop new methods of expression every day. In this exhibition, in addition to the traditional white-based fabrics for dresses, we are going to present a new series of dense and elegant dark-toned fabrics and new fabrics that make the most of materials. |
