We are a Nishijin brocade manufacturer established in 1980, specializing in Buddhist gold brocade. Buddhist gold brocade is a traditional textile used for kesa (robes) worn by priests and mizuhiki, solemn articles used to decorate temples, with patterns expressed with gold and silver thread and gold and silver foil. We have a factory with more than 20 looms in Nishijin, Kyoto, and we produce fabrics in widths from 70 to 150 cm. We also handle small-lot production of originally designed fabrics. Skilled craftsmen and young craftsmen work side by side to develop new methods of expression every day. In addition to the traditional white-toned fabrics for dresses, this year's exhibition will present a series of dark-toned fabrics that are dense and elegant. |
